filling up gaps with cotton candy

I know you’re real, but you have imagination stains all over your face. You see, I filled up all the gaps with cotton candy and fell in love with a man who brings me poetry, mystery, and desire. That’s everything I’ve ever wanted from you. I just wish I could be sure that it’s you.

I’m trying, I’m trying so hard to let you shine through. I do my best to listen to you, to feel the flavour of your every word, your every experience, your every state of mind. I’m just too excited about the possibility of having found someone beautiful that I’m afraid I’ve also made up miles of you, just to be certain.

There are times when I’m not sure how much of you is really you and how much is me. I finally understand the vampire myths. You want to suck on beauty, on youth, on love. On life. You’re terrified they won’t come to you, so you try to take them when they’re not looking.

Hi, I’m Anca

I’m a writer with an NCTJ-accredited BA (Hons) in Journalism & Media Studies and an MA in Marketing from the University of Portsmouth 🇬🇧

I’ve worked in editorial and marketing roles across tech, travel, and trade & academic publishing, self-published two books, and moved countries twice since I started writing here *waves from Italy*

This blog has been my digital home since my uni days, witnessing my evolution from short stories of all kinds (see Fiction!) to a solid copywriting and content writing portfolio I couldn’t be more proud of.

These days, you’ll mainly find me on Substack, where I write Ancaffeinated – a newsletter about my life with tight deadlines and a clingy sausage dog who follows me everywhere.

Feel free to connect with me anywhere, though, I love hearing from you. Welcome to my playground! 📚✨

Let’s connect!
